The Abus Alarmbox 2.0 is not a mechanical lock — it is an electronic alarm that deters a thief before they even make a move. The compact unit attaches directly to the bike frame, and from that moment it draws attention to itself, not to your bike.

At its core is 3D motion detection that registers any disturbance across all three axes. A brief nudge — say, from a passing vehicle — triggers a five-second pre-warning: a short signal that lets an unwelcome visitor know they have been noticed. If contact continues or is repeated, the full 100 dB alarm sounds for 15 seconds and then automatically reactivates. Passers-by are not startled unnecessarily, but a genuine theft attempt will not go unnoticed.

The Alarmbox 2.0 is not limited to bicycles. It works equally well on a pushchair, e-scooter, garden equipment, or a trailer. And if you also want to chain your bike to a fixed object, the optional 5.5 mm / 100 cm insert chain (available above) pairs naturally with the alarm — together they cover both the electronic and mechanical bases without the need to carry two separate locks.
